Gemma, the creative photographer and designer behind Finches Luxury silk scarves. 

 

 In 2019, Finches Luxury British made silk scarves was founded. Remaining true to the heritage of which the brand is built on, taking inspiration from wildlife, nature and all things naturally beautiful.

 

The vision to design imaginative creations born from love, friendship, and ultimate companionship, for that perfect accessory for your own special memories to love & cherish in the form of a beautiful silk scarf, or as I like to call them “wearable memories”. 

Each luxury silk scarf starts its journey from an image taken by myself before being digitally designed and transferred onto the most beautiful highest quality silk.

 

People often ask about the name ‘Finches’. I have a deep love and passion for ex-racehorses. At the age of 16, I bought my first horse, ‘Percy’. His racing name was ‘Finch’s Gem’ so you can see the connection this was a sign to me that he was meant to be. We had an incredible bond, and I cherished every moment we spent together. But sadly, Percy passed away 20 years later. It was a tearful time, and I had lost my best friend, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. He was the one horse who could make everything better, and I was so grateful to have had him in my life.

 

Launching the brand was a stumbling point as I wasn’t set on a name that fitted right. Then, one day in the stable, it came to me, the brand would be named ‘Finches’, my faithful friend will always live on throughout our journey.

 

I believe that everything happens for a reason, and this reason is ‘Finches’.
