BEHIND THE NAME
The Heart Behind Finches
People often ask where the name Finches came from. The answer goes back to a very special horse called Percy.
I bought Percy when I was just 16. He was an ex-racehorse, and when I discovered his racing name was Finch's Gem, with my own name being Gemma, I couldn't help feeling he was meant to be mine.
For the next 20 years, Percy was my closest companion. We shared an incredible bond, and he was the one horse who could always make everything feel better.
When Percy passed away, I lost my best friend. At the time, I was creating my silk scarf brand but hadn't yet found a name that felt right.
Then, one day while I was in the stables, it came to me. Finches. A name inspired by Percy, and a way of keeping his memory alive through something I was creating.
